After the 3-DayPosted on October 17th, 2011 by Maria Verros
The Philadelphia 2011 Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk for the cure for breast cancer has come to an end. Now LD Davis’s walker is back at work on the first day after my 60-mile trek, and I feel incredibly proud that I both walked the 60 miles and raised $2,470, sore in my body and especially my feet, and a little bit relieved that it’s over! Philadelphia as a whole raised over six-million dollars this weekend to help find a cure for breast cancer. I also have to be grateful that my wearing sneakers to the office has been excused today….heels were just not going to work!
LD Davis Animal Glue Company Supports a Worthy Cause
Walking 60 miles in three days and raising $2,470 for a worthy cause is no small accomplishment. Support from LD Davis, an amazing company that has been producing quality animal glue for over eight decades, and from the people within the company helped me reach my goal. As America’s premier animal glue manufacturer, LD Davis is no stranger to giving back to the community. Click here to read a blog that details other ways LD Davis has given back.
LD Davis has live 3-Day Updates!
Check out our Twitter feed and look specifically at the tweets from last Friday through last night (Friday, 10/14-Sunday, 10/16.) A 3-Day photo album will also be posted on Facebook this week. I have been writing blogs about LD Davis involvement and my own training and fundraising for a few months now and also tweeted live from the event to keep our followers posted on my progress throughout the walk. I even got to tweet about a special visit from our CFO at LD Davis, Michael Free, who paid me a visit halfway through the walk on Saturday to show support! Michael has walked the 3-Day for the past two years, and knows how important moral support is for the walkers.
Thanks for your Support!
Philadelphia locals and visitors provided amazing support for walkers throughout all three days. That combined with a strong base of support from animal glue manufacturer LD Davis is what kept me going through the soreness and fatigue! LD Davis is proud to be a supporter of Susan G. Komen, an amazing charity and worthy cause. While the walk in Philly is over for now, I’m sure you’ll see more updates about training and fundraising for next year’s walk sooner than you think!
A big thank you goes out to all of LD Davis for much needed support during this charity walk.
Tell us what you think!
