The high grade gelatins used in our green adhesives are the industrial grade version of the food grade gelatins that are used in Jell-O and many other ingestible products such as gel capsules used by pharmaceutical, vitamin and other pill manufacturers.

A Green Heritage
The natural biodegradability of protein-based gelatin adhesives is being realized by a variety of industries outside the bookbinding industry where such adhesives are commonplace. Today, these are the adhesives of choice in corrugated cardboard sealing and similar board laminates common in rigid box and folded carton packages where the substrate and visible (often printed) exterior are different.
As scientists, engineers and manufacturers, we focus on providing "green sensitive" customers truly environmentally friendly products. In short, a product that biodegrades rapidly when exposed to the natural environment is environmentally friendly. Recyclability is also valuable, but often deserves secondary value on the "green" scale of stewardship. After all, plastics are recyclable, but they are difficult to label "eco-friendly."
Repulpable & Recyclable
Repulpable adhesives will soon become standard for paper recycling. Water soluble adhesives meet paper recycling requirements as water is typically the reducing agent for optimizing the adhesive's operational viscosity for a given industrial application. If repulpability and recycling is a central desire of your production environment, contact us and our technical department will be happy to discuss your specific situation.
Go "Green" with a Veteran
It seems we live in an environment that is more driven by business than by the environment we all share. We believe that any green initiative within an organization should be driven by the products they manufacture. It's too easy to wander off to a website, fill out a form and voila, you get a green seal from any number of self-proclaimed authorities. What does that seal mean? Often very little. In short, speaking green doesn't make you environmentally friendly. Consistent action does.
